Take notice that on March 13, 2007,
National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation
(National Fuel), 6363 Main Street,
Williamsville, New York 14221, filed an
application in Docket No. CP07–101–
000 pursuant to section 7(b) of the
Natural Gas Act (NGA) for permission
and approval to abandon by sale, the
Owls Nest Storage Field located in Elk
County, Pennsylvania. In addition,
National Fuel requests authorization to
abandon by sale, the base gas in that
field, all as more fully set forth in the
application which is on file with the
Commission and open to public
inspection.
National Fuel states that due to the
magnitude of expenditures required to
maintain performance of the facilities
comprising the Owls Nest Storage Field,
compared to the minor contribution of
the facilities to its system wide
deliverability and capacity, National
Fuel proposes to abandon its storage
operations at the Owls Nest field,
abandon the facilities by sale to an
entity that would use the facilities for
the production and gathering of natural
gas, and sell the recoverable base gas.
National Fuel states that, at this time,
the purchasing party is unknown and
proposes to notify the Commission of
the purchaser’s identity within ten days
following the execution of a Purchase
and Sale Agreement for the facilities.
