Title: Amortization of Reforestation
Expenditures.
OMB Number: 1545–0735.
Regulation Project Number: LR–189–
80.
Abstract: Internal Revenue Code
section 194 allows taxpayers to elect to
amortize certain reforestation
expenditures over a 7-year period if the
expenditures meet certain requirements.
The regulations implement this election
provision and allow the IRS to
determine if the election is proper and
allowable.
Current Actions: There is no change to
this existing regulation.
Type of Review: Extension of a
currently approved collection.
Affected Public: Individuals or
households, business or other for-profit
organizations, and farms.
Estimated Number of Respondents:
12,000.
Estimated Time Per Respondent: 30
minutes.
Estimated Total Annual Burden
Hours: 6,001.

SUMMARY: The Department of the
Treasury, as part of its continuing effort
to reduce paperwork and respondent
