On January 26, 2007, the staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline Project. We will hold two public meetings to receive comments on the draft EIS. The public meetings are designed to provide an opportunity for landowners, concerned citizens, and other stakeholders to offer comments on the draft EIS and environmental issues they believe should be addressed in the final EIS. To ensure that every comment is accurately recorded, a court reporter will be present to prepare an official transcript of each meeting. Description of Proposed Project: The proposed project would be located at PO 00000 Frm 00044 Fmt 4703 Sfmt 4703 the site of the licensed Station No. 2 Hydroelectric Project and would have the following new facilities: (1) A proposed 235-foot-long, 13-footdiameter penstock which would include a low-level bifurcation to provide flow to the proposed powerhouse, (2) a proposed powerhouse containing one generating unit with an installed capacity of 6.0 megawatts, (3) a proposed one-mile-long transmission line which would connect to an existing power line; and (4) appurtenant facilities. The project would have an annual generation of 25 gigawatt-hours, which would be sold to a local utility. k.
