AGENCY: SUMMARY: The proposed information collection requirement described below will be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act. Description of the need for the information and proposed use: This request is for the clearance of a survey instrument designed to provide a broad, statistically accurate picture of the current state of the HUD-approved counseling industry in the United States. This survey would be based on the population of approximately 2,173 HUD-approved counseling agencies. The purpose of the survey is to: Provide an accurate picture of the current HUDapproved housing counseling industry, including but not limited to, organizational information, the range of counseling provided, how counseling activities are funded, how agencies manage client intake, who is providing the counseling, who is being counseled, what type of counseling/education are counselees receiving. Estimation of the total number of hours needed to prepare the information collection including number of respondents, frequency of response, and hours of response: 2,173 HUD-Approved Counseling Agencies will be surveyed.
