The sessions will convene at 8 a.m. each day. On December 13, the session will end at 4 p.m. and on December 14 will end at 12 Noon. The meeting is open to the public. The purpose of the Committee is to provide the Secretary of Veterans Affairs with an ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of the policies, organizational structures, and services of the Department in assisting homeless veterans. The Committee shall assemble and review information relating to the needs of homeless veterans and provide ongoing advice on the most appropriate means of assisting homeless veterans. The Committee will make recommendations to the Secretary regarding such activities. On December 13, the Committee will review the responses to the Advisory Committee on Homeless Veterans 2006 report and receive information and reports from the Department of Veterans Affairs and other Federal departments. On December 14, the Committee will continue to receive reports and begin preparation of its upcoming annual report and recommendations to the Secretary. AGENCY: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

ACTION: Notice of New System of Records; Extension of Comment Period.

SUMMARY: The Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. 552(e)(4), requires that all 
agencies publish in the Federal Register a notice of the existence and 
character of their systems of records. On October 24, 2006, the 
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) published a notice of a new system 
of records entitled ``Automated Safety Incident Surveillance and 
Tracking System--VA'' (99VA13). 71 FR 62347-62350. The system notice 
provided for a comment period ending November 24, 2006, and if no 
comments were received during that period of time, the system of 
records was to be effective on that date. 71 FR 62347. In response to a 
request for an extension of the comment period, the Department of 
Veterans Affairs is hereby extending the comment period until December 
26, 2006. All written comments previously received will be considered 
and need not be resubmitted.
