k. Description of Request: The
licensee is requesting the Commission’s
approval to excavate a 150-feet long
starter tunnel section prior construction
of the powerhouse. The licensee
proposes to construct the starter tunnel
as part of the contract for the Lake
Dorothy tap tunnel currently under
construction. The purpose of the tunnel
is to minimize disturbance or damage to
the powerhouse and adjacent facilities
from blasting activities associated with
the tunnel excavation.
