SUMMARY: We, the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service (the Service), are
extending the comment for the draft
Environmental Assessment (DEA) on
take of raptors from the wild for
falconry and for captive propagation.
Comments on the DEA previously
submitted need not be resubmitted,
because they have been incorporated
into the public record and will be fully
considered in the revisions of the DEA.
DATES: The public comment period is
extended to November 21, 2006. Any
comments received after the closing
date may not be considered in the final
guidelines.

published a Notice of Availability of the
DEA on June 21, 2006, with a 90-day
comment period, set to end on
September 19, 2006 (71 FR 35599). We
received a request for a 60-day
extension of the comment period from
the Central Flyway Council (CFC), and
are now extending the comment period
as requested, to allow the CFC
additional time to review the DEA.
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT:
In the
‘‘Rules and Regulations’’ Section of
today’s Federal Register, EPA is
publishing a direct final notice of
deletion of the Site without prior notice
of intent to delete because EPA views
this as a noncontroversial revision and
anticipates no adverse comment. The
EPA has explained our reasons for this
deletion in the preamble to the direct
final deletion. If the EPA receives no
adverse comment(s) on the direct final
notice of deletion, the EPA will take no
further action on this notice of intent to
delete. If EPA receives adverse
comment(s), EPA will withdraw the
direct final notice of deletion and it will
not take effect. The EPA will, as
appropriate, address all public
comments in a subsequent final deletion
notice based on this notice of intent to
delete. The EPA will not institute a
second comment period on this action.
Any parties interested in commenting
must do so at this time. For additional
information, see the direct final notice
of deletion which is located in the Rules
section of this Federal Register.
