Research Project Number 4 (IR-4), 681
U.S. Highway 1 South, North
Brunswick, NJ 08902-3390, proposes to
establish tolerances for residues of the
fungicide trifloxystrobin and the free
form of its acid metabolite (CGA-32113)
in or on asparagus at 0.07 parts per
million (ppm); papaya at 0.4 ppm;
sapote, black at 0.4 ppm; canistel at 0.4
ppm; sapote, mamey at 0.4 ppm; mango
at 0.4 ppm; sapodilla at 0.4 ppm; star
apple at 0.4 ppm; vegetable, root, except
sugar beet, subgroup 1B at 0.2 ppm; and
radish, tops at 20 ppm. A practical
analytical methodology for detecting
and measuring levels of trifloxystrobin
in or on raw agricultural commodities
has been submitted. The limit of
detection (LOD) for each analyte of this
method is 0.08 ng injected, and the limit
of quantitation (LOQ) is 0.02 ppm. The
method is based on crop specific
cleanup procedures and determination
by gas chromatography with nitrogenphosphorus detection.

II. What Action is the Agency Taking?
EPA is printing a summary of each
pesticide petition received under
section 408 of the Federal Food, Drug,
and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), 21 U.S.C.
346a, proposing the establishment of
regulations in 40 CFR part 180 for
residues of esfenvalerate in or on okra
and oilseed crops. EPA has determined
that this pesticide petition contains data
or information regarding the elements
set forth in FFDCA section 408(d)(2);
however, EPA has not fully evaluated
the sufficiency of the submitted data at
this time or whether the data support
granting of the pesticide petition.
Additional data may be needed before
EPA rules on this pesticide petition.
Pursuant to 40 CFR 180.7(f), a
summary of the petition included in this
notice, prepared by the petitioner along
with a description of the analytical
method available for the detection and
measurement of esfenvalerate residues

or on okra at 0.5 parts per million (ppm)
(PP6E7096) and oilseed crops; rapeseed
(canola), seed; indian rapeseed; indian
mustard, seed; field mustard, seed;
black mustard, seed; flax, seed;
sunflower, seed; safflower, seed; borage,
seed; and crambe at 0.3 ppm (9E5075).
There is a practical analytical method
utilizing electron-capture gas
chromatography with nitrogen
phosphorous detection available for
enforcement with a limit of detection
that allows monitoring food with
residues at or above tolerance levels.
The limit of detection for updated
method is the same as that of the current
PAM II, which is 0.01 ppm.

SUMMARY: Section 5 of the Toxic
Substances Control Act (TSCA) requires
any person who intends to manufacture
(defined by statute to include import) a
new chemical (i.e., a chemical not on
the TSCA Inventory) to notify EPA and

pertaining to the manufacture of new
chemicals. Under sections 5(d)(2) and

chemicals. This status report, which
covers the period from July 31, 2006 to
August 11, 2006, consists of the PMNs
pending or expired, and the notices of
commencement to manufacture a new
chemical that the Agency has received
under TSCA section 5 during this time
period.
