Section 6002 of SAFETEA–LU adds requirements and refinements to the environmental review process for highway and public transportation capital projects. The proposed guidance describes how FTA and FHWA propose to implement the new requirements within the environmental review process required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other Federal laws.
