The proposed collection is a revision of a currently approved collection of information relating to the reporting and recordkeeping burden associated with completing and submitting form FNS– 339, the WIC Federal and State Agreement. DATES: Comments on this notice must be received by June 5, 2006. ADDRESSES: Comments are invited on: (a) Whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information will have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency’s estimate of the burden of the proposed collection of information including the validity of the methodology and assumptions used; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on those who are to respond, including through the use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques or other forms of information technology. The Agreement is the contract between USDA and Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) State agencies which empowers the Department to release funds to the States for the administration of the WIC Program in the jurisdiction of the State in accordance with the provisions of 7 CFR part 246. The Agreement requires the signature of the agency official and includes a certification/assurance regarding drugfree workplace, a certification regarding lobbying and a disclosure of lobbying activities. Estimate of Burden: Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average .25 hours per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. Respondents: The Chief Health Officer of the State agency. Estimated Number of Respondents: 107 respondents. Estimated Number of Responses Per Respondent: One.
