The reports allow the Commission to determine how the BOCs will provide competing payphone providers with equal access to all the basic underlying network services that are provided to its own payphones. One change was to add to the prohibition against persons who were directors and officers of a failed institution from purchasing assets from the FDIC an extension to include not only the failed institution, but any affiliate of such institution, so as to comply with the applicable statute. AGENCY: SUMMARY: This notice announces two public hearing(s) on the application for Federal deposit insurance filed on behalf of the proposed Wal-Mart Bank (Application). The FDIC has scheduled two hearings to obtain the public’s views on the issues presented by the Application. This notice sets forth the dates, times, locations, and other details of the hearings.
