AGENCY:
SUMMARY: In the Federal Register of
December 5, 2005 (70 FR 72429), the
Consumer Product Safety Commission
published a notice in accordance with
provisions of the Paperwork Reduction
Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35) to
announce the agency’s intention to seek
extension of approval of a collection of
information associated with the
procurement of goods and services. No
comments were received in response to
that notice. The Commission now
announces that it has submitted to the
Office of Management and Budget a
request for extension of approval of that
collection of information.
The Commission’s procurement
activities are governed by the Federal
Property and Administrative Services
Act of 1949 (41 U.S.C. 253 et seq.). That
law requires the Commission to procure
goods and services under conditions
most advantageous to the government,
considering cost and other factors.
Forms used by the Commission request
persons who quote, propose, or bid on
contracts with the agency to provide
information about costs or prices of
goods and services to be supplied;
specifications of goods and descriptions
of services to be supplied; specifications
of goods and descriptions of services to
be delivered; competence of the offeror

the group known as ‘‘North Korean
Civilian Partisans Recruited, Trained,
and Commanded for Military
Operations by the U.S. Eighth Army,
8240th Army Unit Far East Liaison
Detachment, on the Korean Peninsula
and Accompanying Islands from
January 15, 1951, Through July 27,
1953,’’ shall not be considered ‘‘active
duty’’ for purposes of all laws
administered by the Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA).
