abstract: Primary: Individuals or
Households. This form is used by
qualified immigrants seeking to enter
the United States under section
203(b)(5) of the Immigration and
Nationality Act for the purpose of

petitioning relative to submit an
affidavit on their relative’s behalf. The
executed form creates a contract
between the sponsor and any entity that
provides means-tested public benefits.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: 539,500 principal I–864
responses at 3.8 hours per response and
195,000 dependent I–864 responses at
.08 hours per response; and 215,800 I–
864A responses at 1.75 minutes per
response.
(6) An estimate of the total public
burden (in hours) associated with the
collection(s): 2,443,350 annual burden
hours.

Households. This form will be used by
every sponsor who has filed an Affidavit
of Support under Section 213A of the
Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)
to notify the USCIS of a change of
address. The data will be used to locate
a sponsor if there is a request for
reimbursement.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: 100,000 responses at .233
hours (14 minutes) per response.
(6) An estimate of the total public
burden (in hours) associated with the
collection: 23,300 annual burden hours.
