The Department of Homeland Security (Department) has submitted an emergency information collection request (ICR) utilizing emergency review procedures, to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance in accordance with section 1320.13(a)(1)(ii) and (a)(2)(iii) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The DHS has determined that it cannot reasonably comply with the normal clearance procedures under this part because normal clearance procedures are reasonably likely to prevent or disrupt the collection of information. Accordingly, DHS is requesting emergency review from OMB for this information collection. OMB approval has been requested by October 31, 2005. If granted, the emergency approval is only valid for 180 days. This information collection was previously published by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Federal Register on July 19, 2005 at 70 FR 41416, allowing for a 60-day public comment period ending September 19, 2005. No comments were received on this information collection. This information collection will be administratively transferred to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
