Federal Register on April 12, 2005 (70
FR 19081). This announcement is the
responsibility of ATSDR under the
regulation ‘‘Public Health Assessments
and Health Effects Studies of Hazardous
Substances Releases and Facilities’’ (42
CFR part 90). This rule sets forth
ATSDR’s procedures for the conduct of
public health assessments under section
104(i) of the Comprehensive
Environmental Response,
Compensation, and Liability Act
(CERCLA), as amended by the
Superfund Amendments and
Reauthorization Act (SARA) (42 U.S.C.
9604(i)).

of Employees for Addition to the
Special Exposure Cohort

ACTION: Notice.
AGENCY:
SUMMARY: The Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS) gives notice
concerning the final effect of the HHS
decision to designate a class of
employees at the Iowa Army
Ammunition Plant (IAAP), in
Burlington, Iowa as an addition to the
Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) under
the Energy Employees Occupational
Illness Compensation Program Act of
2000. On May 20, 2005, as provided for
under 42 U.S.C. 7384q(b), the Secretary
of HHS designated the following class of
employees as an addition to the SEC:
Employees of the Department of Energy
(DOE) or DOE contractors or subcontractors
employed by the Iowa Army Ammunition
Plant, Line 1, during the period from March
1949 through 1974 and who were employed
for a number of work days aggregating at least
250 work days either solely under this
employment or in combination with work
days within the parameters (excluding
aggregate work day requirements) established
for other classes of employees included in
the SEC.
This designation became effective on
June 19, 2005, as provided for under 42
U.S.C. 7384l(14)(C). Hence, beginning
on June 19, 2005, members of this class
