AGENCY: ACTION: SUMMARY: Pursuant to section (102)(2)(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, and the regulations implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality (40 CFR parts 1500–1508), the Department of the Navy (Navy) intends to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the Introduction of the F/A–18 E/F Super Hornet Aircraft to the East Coast of the United States. The SEIS will provide additional analysis of the environmental consequences associated with the construction and operation of an Outlying Landing Field (OLF) to support Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) operations of Super Hornet squadrons stationed at Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana, Virginia, and Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina.
