Abstract: Claimants who wish to waive VA disability benefits in order to receive active or inactive duty training pay are required to complete VA Forms 21–8951 and 21–8951–2. Active and inactive duty training pay cannot be paid concurrently with VA disability compensation or pension benefits. Claimants who elect to keep training pay must waive VA benefits for the number of days equal to the number of days in which they received training pay. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. Abstract: The information collected on VA Form 21–0571 is used to PO 00000 Frm 00129 Fmt 4703 Sfmt 4703 36237 determine whether children’s income can be excluded from consideration in determining a parent’s eligibility for non-service connected pension. A veteran’s or surviving spouse’s rate of Improved Pension is determined by family income. Normally, income of children who are members of the household is included in this determination. However, children’s income may be excluded if it is unavailable or if including that income would cause a hardship. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.
