collection requirement described below
will be submitted to the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB) for
review, as required by the Paperwork
Reduction Act. The Department is
soliciting public comments on the
subject proposal.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The
Department will submit the proposed
information collection to OMB for
review, as required by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C.
Chapter 35, as amended). This Notice is
soliciting comments from members of
the public and affected agencies
concerning the proposed collection of
information to: (1) Evaluate whether the
proposed collection of information is
necessary for the proper performance of
the functions of the agency, including
whether the information will have
practical utility; (2) evaluate the
accuracy of the agency’s estimate of the
burden of the proposed collection of
information; (3) enhance the quality,
utility, and clarity of the information to
be collected; and (4) minimize the
burden of the collection of information
on those who are to respond, including
through the use of appropriate
automated collection techniques or
other forms of information technology,
e.g., permitting electronic submission of
responses.

Title of Proposal: Mortgage Credit
Analysis Worksheet for Native
American Loan Guarantee Program and
Transmittal for Loan Guarantee Fee.
OMB Control Number: 2577–0200.
Description of the need for the
information and proposed use: The
information is required by section 184
of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1994, as amended
by section 701 of the Native American
Housing Assistance and SelfDetermination Act of 1996 and
implementing regulations at 24 CFR
section 1005. HUD has the authority to
guarantee loans for the construction,
acquisition, rehabilitation or refinance
of 1- to 4-family homes to be owned by
Native Americans in restricted Indian
lands or service areas. Mortgage lenders
approved by HUD provide borrower and
lender information to HUD for guarantee
of the loan. If the information were not
provided on Forms HUD–53036 and
HUD–53038, HUD would be unable to
guarantee loans and as a result lenders
would be unable to provide financing to
Native Americans.

and HUD–53038.

Estimation of the total number of
hours needed to prepare the information
collection including number of
respondents, frequency of response, and
hours of response: 2,000 responses
(1,000 × 2 forms), on occasion, fifteen
minutes to prepare HUD–53036, five
minutes to prepare HUD–53038, 334
hours total reporting burden.
Status of the proposed information
collection: Extension of currently
approved collection.
The information is currently collected
manually in the Office of Loan
Guarantee. Statutory mandates and
Federal program requirements would
not be met if the collection is not
conducted, or is conducted less
frequently.

Reduction Act of 1995, 44 U.S.C. Chapter 35,
