Pursuant to Section 19(b)(1) of the
Securities Exchange Act of 1934
(‘‘Act’’) 1 and Rule 19b–4 thereunder,2
notice is hereby given that on May 18,
2005, the American Stock Exchange LLC
(‘‘Amex’’ or ‘‘Exchange’’) submitted to
the Securities and Exchange
Commission (‘‘Commission’’) the
proposed rule change as described in
Items I and II below, which Items have
been prepared by the Amex. On May 31,
2005, the Amex filed Amendment No. 1
to the proposed rule change.3 On June
2, 2005, the Amex filed Amendment No.
2 to the proposed rule change.4 The
Exchange filed the proposed rule change
pursuant to Section 19(b)(3)(A) of the
Act 5 which renders it effective upon
filing with the Commission. The
Commission is publishing this notice to
solicit comments on the proposed rule
change, as amended, from interested
persons.
I. Self-Regulatory Organization’s
Statement of the Terms of Substance of
the Proposed Rule Change
The Amex proposes to amend Amex
Rule 950(g) to extend its pilot program
implementing a quote-assist feature
until April 30, 2006. The text of the
proposed rule change is available on

principal office, and at the
Commission’s Public Reference Room.
