SUMMARY: The Veterans Benefits
Administration (VBA), Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA), is announcing an
opportunity for public comment on the
proposed collection of certain
information by the agency. Under the
Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of
1995, Federal agencies are required to
publish notice in the Federal Register
concerning each proposed collection of
information, including each proposed
extension of a currently approved
collection, and allow 60 days for public
comment in response to the notice. This
notice solicits comments on the
information needed to determine
children with spina bifida eligibility for
reimbursement of transportation
expenses.
Written comments and
recommendations on the proposed
collection of information should be
received on or before July 11, 2005.

Abstract: Children of Vietnam
veterans born with spina bifida and
receiving vocational training or seeking
employment may request
reimbursement for transportation
expenses. To be eligible, the child must
provide supportive documentation of
actual expenses incurred for the travel.
VA uses the information collected to
determine if the child is unable to
pursue a vocational training or
employment without travel assistance.
