SUMMARY: The Veterans Benefits
Administration (VBA), Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA), is announcing an
opportunity for public comment on the
proposed collection of certain
information by the agency. Under the
Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of
1995, Federal agencies are required to
publish notice in the Federal Register
concerning each proposed collection of
information, including each proposed
extension of a currently approved
collection, and allow 60 days for public
comment in response to the notice. This
notice solicits comments on the
information needed to determine
children with spina bifida eligibility for
reimbursement of transportation
expenses.

veterans born with spina bifida and

reimbursement for transportation
expenses. To be eligible, the child must
provide supportive documentation of
actual expenses incurred for the travel.
VA uses the information collected to
determine if the child is unable to
pursue a vocational training or
employment without travel assistance.

retired from VA will receive a lump sum
payment for any reaccredited annual

completed by beneficiaries in receipt of

report medical expenses paid in
connection with claims for pension and
other income-based benefits.
Unreimbursed medical expenses paid
by a beneficiary or claimant may be
excluded from their countable income.
VA uses the data collected to determine
the claimant’s entitlement to improved
pension and the appropriate rate
payable.
An agency may not conduct or
sponsor, and a person is not required to

unless it displays a currently valid OMB
