Chapter 641C - Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors and Detoxification Technicians
NRS 641C.360 - Period license is valid; scope of practice authorized by license.
1. A license as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor is valid for 2 years and may be renewed.
2. A licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor may:
(a) Engage in the practice of counseling alcohol and drug abusers;
(b) Diagnose or classify a person as an alcoholic or abuser of drugs; and
(c) Supervise certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor interns.
3. A licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor may not identify, evaluate, diagnose or treat a mental illness when a person with mental illness is also an alcoholic or abuser of drugs.
