encephalitis virus. These commenters supplied detailed information to
support
Control of Communicable Diseases; Restrictions on African Rodents, Prairie Dogs, and Certain Other Animals
did not ``ban'' cows despite bovine
spongiform encephalopathy (BSE, or ``mad cow disease'') disease; dogs
despite rabies; birds due to West Nile virus; or other animals
associated with zoonotic diseases. Some claimed that we were
discriminating
