Pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended, the Baltimore District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in partnership with the Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Port Administration, the non- federal sponsor, plans to prepare a supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (sEIS) for the Mid-Chesapeake Bay Island Ecosystem Restoration Project at James Island (Mid-Bay Island Project). The Mid- Chesapeake Islands Restoration Project recommends remote island restoration at James Island and Barren Island, both on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and in Dorchester County, MD, through the beneficial use of dredged material. The project addresses two needs: (1) the restoration of remote island habitat to benefit wildlife including a diverse assemblage of birds, fish, herpetofauna, and invertebrates; and (2) the beneficial use of dredged material from the maintenance of the approach channels to Baltimore Harbor. Remote islands, a critical ecosystem component in the Chesapeake Bay, are offshore landforms that provide isolation, lack of human disturbance, and few predators. These conditions uniquely support isolated nesting and foraging habitat for a diverse assemblage of wildlife. Extensive island habitat loss has occurred within the Mid-Chesapeake Bay, and James Island has nearly vanished. Sea level rise and related erosion, as well as land subsidence and wave action are the primary drivers of island loss. The project provides an opportunity to utilize 30 to 70 million cubic yards of clean dredged material over a 20-year period to restore 2,072 acres of remote island habitat at James Island including uplands and wetlands. The project would convert over 2,000 acres of shallow water habitat in the waters surrounding James Island to external dikes and island habitat. There are expected to be long-term changes to the aesthetics of the project area as an effect of the restoration of James Island in the landscape. The sEIS will update documentation for NEPA focused on the James Island component of the project. USACE is requesting to be provided any supporting information, analyses, and alternative identification relevant to the action being evaluated by this sEIS.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District is notifying interested parties that it has withdrawn the notice of intent (NOI) to develop an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed Lower Santa Cruz River Flood Risk Management Feasibility Study. The original NOI to prepare a EIS was published in the Federal Register on November 9, 2015. The proposed Lower Santa Cruz River Flood Risk Management Feasibility Study is being converted to a Continuing Authority Program (CAP) study.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, Planning Division is notifying interested parties that it has withdrawn the Notice of Intent (NOI) to develop an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed Nassau County Back Bay (NCBB) Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Feasibility Study. The original NOI to prepare an EIS was published in the Federal Register on Friday, April 21, 2017. An Environmental Assessment (EA) will be prepared instead of an EIS.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District (USACE), is issuing this notice to inform Federal, State, local governmental agencies, and the public that USACE is withdrawing the Notice of Intent (NOI) to prepare a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to support the Dam Safety Modification Study Report (DSMSR) for Center Hill Dam.

Due to the last minute unavailability of a quorum, the Missile Defense Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 and Thursday, April 3, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. was cancelled. At this date, neither the Department of Defense nor the committee's Designated Federal Officer has plans to reschedule the meeting.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Jacksonville District intends to prepare a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Port Canaveral Improvements Section 203 Feasibility Study. The study is being conducted by the Canaveral Port Authority under authority granted by section 203 of Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) 1986.

The Missile Defense Advisory Committee will meet in closed session on November 28-29, 2006, in Washington, DC. The mission of the Missile Defense Advisory Committee is to provide the Department of Defense advice on all matters relating to missile defense, including system development, technology, program maturity and readiness of configurations of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) to enter the acquisition process. At this meeting, the Committee will conduct classified discussions on capability-based acquisition.

The mission of the Missile Defense Advisory Committee is to provide the Department of Defense advice on all matters relating to missile defense, including system development, technology, program maturity and readiness of configurations of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) to enter the acquisition process. At this meeting, the Committee will receive classified reports on capability-based acquisition.
