SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: AGENCY: Section 733(b)(1)(A) of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended (the Act), requires the Department to issue the preliminary determination in an AD investigation within 140 days after the date on which the Department initiated the investigation. However, section 733(c)(1)(A) of the Act and 19 CFR 351.205(e) allow the Department to postpone the preliminary determination at the request of the petitioner. Background

    On June 22, 2017, the Department of Commerce (the Department) 
initiated the countervailing duty investigation of citric acid and 
certain citrate salts from Thailand.\1\ Currently, the preliminary 
determination is due no later than August 28, 2017.\2\ On August 1, 
2017, in accordance with section 703(c)(1)(A) of the Tariff Act of 
1930, as amended (the Act), and 19 CFR 351 205(b)(2), the petitioners 
requested that the Department postpone and fully extend the deadline
