Description of Project Facilities: The project consists of: (1) A 12-foothigh diversion structure; (2) a 42-inchdiameter, 1,095-foot-long corrugated metal pipeline connected by a surge tank to a 34-inch-diameter, 418-footlong steel penstock; (3) a powerhouse containing three generating units with a total rated capacity of 225-kilowatts; (4) a 1,200-foot-long, 15-kilovolt transmission line; (5) intake fish screens; (6) a weir fish ladder on the right side of the diversion structure; and (7) appurtenant facilities. l. Description of Proceeding: On August 18, 2015, and supplemented on April 14, 2016, James and Sharon Jans, exemptee, filed an application stating that due to financial and regulatory challenges it would surrender and decommission the existing Odell Creek Hydroelectric Project. The exemptee proposes to remove the diversion structure, fish ladder, and portions of the penstock and to restore the stream channel. The generating and transmission facilities would also be removed; however, the exemptee would secure the powerhouse which would remain in place. m.
