Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, Civil Action No. 14–cv–546. The United States and the State of Wisconsin filed this lawsuit under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (‘‘CERCLA’’). The complaint names Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (‘‘WPSC’’) as the defendant. The complaint requests recovery of costs that the United States incurred responding to releases of hazardous substances at the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation Stevens Point MGP Superfund Alternative Site in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The complaint also seeks injunctive relief. WPSC will pay $37,469.81 in response costs and perform the remedial action that EPA selected for the site. In return, the United States and Wisconsin agree not to sue WPSC under sections 106 and 107 of CERCLA. The publication of this notice opens a period for public comment on the consent decree.
